What to do when my HP printer is stuck in the queue?

  1. Press the power button to turn off the HP printer and then pull out its power cord from the outlet.
  2. Click on the Windows search tool (the magnifying glass icon next to the Start Menu button) and then search for and launch Services.
  3. Find and right-click on Print Spooler and then click on Stop.
  4. Exit Services after Stop is completed
  5. Use the Windows search tool again to find and open C: Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS
  6. Delete every file under the PRINTERS folder
  7. Turn off your computer
  8. Plug the power cord back to the power outlet and then press the power button to turn on the printer
  9. Turn on the computer and then conduct a test print

If it can’t clear the print queue and the print job is still stuck, proceed to the next step

Install the latest Printer Driver

    1. Go to HP Customer Support – Software and Driver Downloads and enter your printer model. 
  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest printer driver or software.
  2. Restart your computer and then conduct a test print

If your HP printer is still stuck in the queue, proceed to the next step.
