How to Change your HP Photosmart C6388 Ink Cartridges Refill

  1. Make sure your HP C6388 printer is on because HP would require you to turn on your machine while replacing cartridges.
  2. Carefully open the printer’s cartridge door. The machine’s carriage will move to the center so wait till it becomes idle and silent before doing the next step.
  3. Push the tab in front of the empty ink tank, then gently pull up the device to remove it from the carriage.
  4. Unwrap the new HP C6388 ink cartridge and get rid of the plastic tape. Also, get rid of the device’s orange plastic cap by turning it counterclockwise until it wears off.
  5. Clasp the new ink cartridge on the sides, and with the contacts facing the printer, then insert it into the correct slot.
  6. Slip the ink cartridge into the vacant slot at a slightly upward angle, then thoroughly push to snap it into position.
  7. If needed, repeat the installation steps with the other color ink cartridge, then close the ink cartridge access door.
