How to Replace Canon Pixma MG2522 Cartridges

  1. Please turn on your printer and then pull open its paper output tray and output tray extension.
  2. Open the printer cover, and the cartridge holder will start moving towards the proper cartridge replacement position. Please wait for it to stop before you proceed to the next step.
  3. Find the empty Canon MG2522 ink cartridge. Gently press it down until it clicks, then take it out from the holder.
  4. Unpack the new ink cartridge and carefully take it out from its protective taping.
  5. Slide the new cartridge inside the holder at a slanting position. Keep pushing the cartridge towards the holder until it snaps firmly into place.
  6. Remember to load the Tri-Color cartridge into the left slot and the Black cartridge into the right.
  7. Close the printer cover.

a. What ink does Canon mg2522 use?

The Canon Pixma MG2522 inkjet printer uses a pigment-based Canon PG-245 Black cartridge and dye-based CLI-246 Tri-Color cartridge. Both Canon MG2522 ink cartridges are also available in standard and high yield XL cartridge sizes. Standard PG-245 and CL-246 cartridges can print 180 pages each, while high yield PG-245XL and CL-246XL cartridges print 300 pages.

 

b. Can I just use black ink in my Canon printer?

Yes, you can use black ink only with a Canon printer by first opening your Canon printer’s driver setup window. Next, click on Print Options from the Page Setup tab. Finally, go to Print Width: drop-down and click on Color Only or Black Only.
