How to Change your Canon PIXMA MX892 Ink Cartridges Refill

  1. Make sure the Canon MX892 printer's power is turned on, by pressing the Power button.
  2. Gently open the scanning unit cover by lifting it with the unit support. Let the print head holder change its place to the replacement position before you proceed.
  3. Remove the cartridge with the lamp flashing by pushing the front tab and lifting the device out of the carriage. Avoid contact with the printer's headlock lever.
  4. Prepare the new Canon MX892 Ink Cartridge by unpacking it, and removing the orange tape completely. Remove also the device's protective film.
  5. Hold the cartridge with the orange protective cap pointing upwards while avoiding contact with the air hole and carefully twist it 90 degrees horizontally to snap it off.
  6. Insert the new ink cartridge into the vacant slot and push the device into the matching slot.
  7. Close the printer’s scanning unit cover to complete the installation.
