How to Change your Canon Pixma MG6220 Ink Cartridges Refill

  1. Make sure the Canon MG6220 is turned on, then gently open the paper output tray by pressing its tiny release button.
  2. Lift the machine’s cover until it maintains the open position, then let the print head holder move to the replacement position.
  3. Remove the cartridge with the lamp flashing by pushing the tab and gently lifting the device. Be careful not to touch the print head lock lever.
  4. Prepare the new Canon MG6220 ink cartridge by taking it from its package, then getting rid of the orange tape altogether. Also, remove the protective film.
  5. Hold the Canon 6220 ink cartridge with the orange protective cap, pointing it up, and be careful not to block the L-shape air hole. Then, gently twist the orange cap horizontally at 90 degrees to snap it off.
  6. Install the new cartridge. Insert the cartridge’s front end into the print head at a slanting position and make sure it matches the label on the slot. Then, push the device into the slot until it clicks into position. Make sure the ink lamp lights red.
  7. Gently close the machine’s scanning unit or cover to finish the installation.
